Love the Chase.

It was one of those occasions where you swear you have never met a couple more in love. Two people who truly enjoy each other more than anyone else. They just simply laugh together. There was never a moment she didn’t have a smile on her face and he did not have a protective hand on her back. Clear adoration.

They treated their guests to a cruise around Boothbay Harbor, a lobster bake to the tunes of a steel drum band, and an early morning 5k race (with a shotgun start) followed by a polar plunge. There were hand pies and food trucks and bowling. Vows with tears down by the seaside and dancing under the stars went late into the evening.

So many of the incredible details were a true labor of love by the bride’s father (yes – he was asked several times if he would be a member of the b merry team!)

It was enchanting. It was fun.

Cheers Brenna + Sam! … To you and your first anniversary.

The coast of Maine will continue to celebrate you and your lively love. Love the Chase.

There are those rare and wonderful occasions when you get to work with someone from your professional world in a more personal setting. I recently had that opportunity when the fabulous Emilie Sommer of emilie, inc. photography immersed herself in our crazy world to capture in photos the story of our life in one day.

We sometimes miss or just accept these routines and moments as normal, everyday things. What Emilie documented is anything but ordinary. They are the extraordinary bits of a typical day in all its beauty, folly and energy.

These documented moments will be something our boys will have forever. It is priceless. Our boys will be able to look back and see an entire day in their lives. They will see that they were loved. And that they were crazy. And young. And this was us. Then.

Take a peek at the fabulous slideshow of our day below (may take a moment to load). And enjoy more of the adventure here.

What a pleasant and serendipitous surprise to find the beautiful wedding of Whitney + Tom published in Utterly Engaged Magazine on the very week of their first anniversary.

Whitney + Tom were married last fall on the beautiful, rocky coast of Camden, Maine. The bride’s stunning style made every detail of this perfect day appear effortlessly simple. An exquisite Autumn day in the field. An intimate dinner in the tent under the lights. Love all around. A nod to all things Maine. Utterly wonderful.

I was honored to be a part of this day and thrilled to be a part of the team with so many other fantastic wedding professionals. A special thanks to the extremely talented Corbin Gurkin who captured the day in the way that only she can – her images, which grace the pages of this publication, are truly amazing.

Cheers to your first anniversary, Whitney + Tom!

We were on our honeymoon. I remember sitting in a small internet cafe on the coast of Ireland uploading photos from the day and checking email. That was when I received the email from Stacey Doyle with the first sneak peek of shots from our wedding.

And in an instant I right back there in the middle of that amazing day.

I talked a lot about our wedding in Part One of this post. Now, I’ll let the picture speak those thousands words that they always do so well.

But I will leave you with this:

When the day comes give yourself over to it completely.

That’s the important part. That’s the best advice I can give you. Let it go. Be there. In the moment. It’s fleeting. And it will be over before you know it. If you’re lucky you will find someone who can capture it so perfectly the way it was and the way you remember it. And those memories will last forever.
